The first ongoing series for Gold Digger began only four months after the end of it's four issue mini-series concluded. Fred showcased a new, cleaner art style with the start of this second volume of GD. The most noticable difference, not counting the art, between the mini-series and this series was the page counts for the story. With 32 pages of story in the four issues of the mini-series, each book was packed full of great art and characterization. Now the series had been cut back to only 24 pages of story, with ads inserted every few pages which would occassionally break up the flow of the story. At least we got to see the addition of a letter's column though.
